58 SMALL BUSINESSES COME TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
Local business owners join forces to encourage community to shop small on the Westside
Shopping Small 9-4 + Live Music and Celebrating 4-9
PORT ALLEN, LA – This November 26th, more than 58 local small businesses are coming together to kick off the holiday season and celebrate Small Business Saturday. Each business is offering exclusive deals to celebrate the day and every shopper will be entered to win fun door prizes when they visit multiple small businesses in West Baton Rouge.
Small businesses are at the core of every successful and vibrant community. In fact, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67
cents stays in the local community.* When you Shop Small on Small Business Saturday—and all year long—it can help add up to a big impact.
The WBR Small Business Council is a committee of the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce started by a handful of small business owners to create initiatives and events that benefit and lift up small businesses.
“We are passionate about working together as small business owners for the continued growth of everyone,” says Chelsey Laborde Blankenship, owner of SoSis Boutique. “When we give our neighbors multiple reasons to shop locally, we all benefit and our community gains a little more culture.”
This November 26th, shoppers will find discounts and special promotions at all 58 participating businesses. In addition to these special offers, everyone who visits any one of the participating businesses can enter to win one of multiple prizes from participating small businesses.
Small Business Saturday on the Westside will culminate with an After Party celebrating all small businesses and the community that supports them. The party will feature live music from Chris Ocmand, Shelbe Moses, 2 Domestic 1 Import and FairPlay along with food trucks/restaurants, outdoor bars, pop up shops and more. Everyone is invited to join in on this free celebration!
